Today students finished the movie Great Debaters starring Denzel Washington and Forrest Whitaker. After the movie there was a 15 question quiz over the elements of debate and major plot points in the movie. To reflect on the film students were given prompt questions to answer in their interactive notebooks.

Today Mrs. Ferguson taught the students interview skills, how to prepare, and gave them experience! 

Students participated in a debate activity called the Hot Air Balloon Debate! Where the students had to pick a celebrity and defend why that person should survive the falling the hot air balloon. 

Finished demo speeches and went outside for improptu speaking

Students finalized their notecards, practiced with friends, and bonus speeches were presented

Students had today to finalize their topics and write out their steps and two facts

Finishing up persuasive speeches for absences and picking demonstration speech topics.
