We will begin our Persuasive Speech Unit with a brief PowerPoint and notes at the beginning of the week. We will watch and grade some example speeches. And then we are off to the library for our research and speech development.
Thursday (A day) and Friday (B day) are speech rehearsal days. Students will practice and revise their speeches, as well as create their note cards during class. Speech presentations are scheduled for March 14-18.
Students will be preparing for the Informative Speech during the next several class periods. We will take a look at documenting our resources by creating the Works Cited page; we will watch speech examples and grade using our rubric. Starting Wednesday, we will spend three class periods in the library researching and developing the speech.
